ECIS Array Stations

ECIS Array Stations connect to the ECIS Station Controller and are an integral part of the ECIS system. They are usually placed inside the tissue culture incubator and for that reason have been designed to function at high humidity conditions.

A flat shielded cable from the Array Station exits the incubator by the rubber seal of the inner glass door or through an incubator port, if available. Each Array Station has three LED’s that provide a quick glimpse of the state of the device while looking in the incubator window.

16 Well Array Station

The 16 Well Array Station provides electrical contact for two 8 well ECIS arrays. The knurled stainless steel knobs on the top of the Station raise and lower the clamps and their contact pins. After a clamp is raised, the array slides into a slotted track and the clamp is lowered. Spring-loaded pogo pins assure proper pressure to make electrical contact to the array. The system is now ready for measurements.

96 Well Array Station

The 96 Well Array Station provides electrical contact for a single 96 well ECIS Array. To insert the array, the lever is positioned to the far left. The 96 well array is then placed on a platform inside the Array Station. When the lever is pushed to the right, the array is moved forward and electrical contact is made to the contact tab that extends from the back of the array. The system is now ready for measurements. To remove the array, the lever is pushed back to the left (release), and the 96 well array can be lifted out of the Array Station.
